The Hunter is a tribute to a big dog with a big bark and an even bigger heart. Fierce protector, fearless vineyard chaser and loyal companion, Hunter ruled the vines — rabbits, hares, foxes and low-hanging grapes all lived on borrowed time.

Wine Style & Technique

Made from cane-cut Riesling, the fruit was left to naturally dry on the vine, concentrating its sweetness while retaining vibrant, mouth-watering acidity. Tasting Profile

The Hunter is a sweet dessert wine, weighing in at 134 grams per litre of sugar. Made from Riesling, it displays concentrated citrus and stone fruit with layers of honeyed sweetness, balanced by bright, crisp acidity. Lush, yet refreshing, with a long, clean finish. Bottled in a 375ml Riesling bottle. 

The Vineyard

The fruit for The Hunter was sourced from Miners Ridge Vineyard, set in a cool-climate landscape defined by elevation, ancient soils and significant diurnal temperature variation, the vineyard is ideally suited to growing expressive Riesling with purity, natural acidity and longevity. These conditions allow the fruit to develop flavour intensity at lower sugar levels, making it particularly well suited to cane-cut and late-harvest styles, where balance is key.
