Events
Black & Ginger attend wine and food events throughout the year, including regional events such as the iconic Grampians Grape Escape and regularly feature on the Urban Wine Walk. As members of Grampians Wine we showcase our wines at An Evening in the Vines, annual pop-up in January, Red Series in Ballarat in July and Grampians in a Glass in Melbourne during August. We regularly collaborate with local chefs and venues to bring exciting events to you.
Looking for a place to stay for your visit? Look no further than Hounds Run Vineyard, the home of Black & Ginger Wines. A private vineyard retreat — off-grid Tiny House with 360° Grampians views. Sit at the top of the vineyard as the vines turn gold and the Grampians range stretches to the horizon. Pour
a glass of Black & Ginger Lily’s Block Shiraz. Watch the sun set over the Grampians.
This is Hounds Run in autumn — and there is nowhere else quite like it.

The Grampians Uncorked
A gathering to celebrate the region’s best provenance and mark the start of the 2026 Grampians Wine Festival. Five regional wineries will discuss specific pairings between their selected wines and food tailored by the award-winning team at Block & Cleaver. Enjoy the story behind the menu curated by Executive Chef Dean Sibthorp, alongside pairing notes from the winemakers, while taking in the Grampians backdrop.
Five tasting courses served in the style of ‘Iris’s’ chef canvas menu. Canapes on arrival followed by three savoury courses and a dessert to finish. This offers a snapshot of the produce available based on the season and surroundings. After dinner, wines will be available for purchase, with an opportunity to speak with winemakers and representatives.
Tickets for this event are a limited release of 40 and are subject to a first-come, first-served basis. A deposit is required to book, cancellation will incur a forfeiture of the deposit against administration fees. A local service, Hubers Lifts, is available for those who wish to book onward travel. Grampians Wine Festival: Progressive Lunch
A Collaborative Culinary Journey
Join us for a unique collaborative culinary experience as we take you on a progressive lunch tour through three of the East Grampians’ finest wineries along the picturesque Route 222. This exclusive event will feature a selection of gourmet dishes paired with hand-crafted wines from Pomonal Estate, Black & Ginger and Fallen Giants Vineyard.
Tickets include three courses, one at each winery, a glass of wine at each venue, commentary by chef’s, winemakers, owners and representatives. Transport to and from each destination with pick-up/drop-off available from Ararat, Stawell, Great Western, Halls Gap or Pomonal.

Blacky's Bottles #2: Grenache Showdown
Come and join us for the second edition of Blacky’s Bottles.
We have collected a bunch of Grenache wines from various producers across Australia. Instead of enjoying them one by one, we thought we’d love to compare them to each other. So, whether you know lots or nothing about Grenache, here’s your opportunity to taste 10 at once! Plus there will be some delicious nibbles prepared by Chef Dean Sibthorp from IRIS by Block & Cleaver to enjoy alongside the wines.

Black & Ginger at the Great Western FNC Market
Trick or… wine? We’ll be at the Great Western FNC Market on Halloween, pouring Black & Ginger wines alongside food trucks, live music and local stall holders at the Thomson Community Centre Oval. Whether you’ve just crossed the finish line at the Lion Chase Fun Run or you’re there purely for the post-market pour, come find us — no costume required (but we won’t judge if you show up in one). A brilliant morning out in one of Victoria’s most historic wine towns, supporting a great local club. See you there!

Halls Gap Market
The Halls Gap Market, established in 1997, is proudly hosted by Halls Gap Primary School. Located at the Halls Gap recreational reserve throughout the year.
This vibrant outdoor market is run by dedicated parent volunteers and features a diverse range of high-quality local stalls, offering everything from arts and crafts to fresh produce, plants, fine food, and drinks including wine of course. Food and coffee vans provide delicious hot meals on-site, so come along and enjoy the warm, family-friendly atmosphere.

This December, Black & Ginger and IRIS by Block & Cleaver are joining forces for an evening of quietly extraordinary dining in the heart of the Grampians.
Executive Chef Dean Sibthorp brings his signature approach — seasonal, intentional, and beautifully executed — to five thoughtfully crafted courses, each paired with a Black & Ginger wine chosen to complement, contrast, and elevate every bite.
